Two Unique Events
ConnQuest Connemara – a half marathon and 10 km over 4 mountain peaks. The date is set for 17 September at noon for the inaugural ConnQuest Connemara. Two unique events running in conjunction over the Connemara mountains starting at Lettergesh beach.
Half-Marathon
The half-marathon course will run over four peaks with an elevation change of 2,800m and panoramic views of Killary Harbour, the Maam Turks, Twelve Bens and the Atlantic Ocean. Make no mistake the course is challenging and demanding and will take you to places that few have ever been!
10km Mountain Run / Trek
The 10km mountain run/trek will include various challenges which will test your endurance, sense of humour and skills you didn’t even know you had!!
The first 3K of the course will take you from sea level to 580 metres, with The Robin Hood Challenge at 400 metres. This is the first challenge and is a test of accuracy; you will be given 3 arrows to hit the target once for direct passage to the summit. Fail to hit the target and you will have to complete a 200m penalty loop to proceed. Penalty loops will accompany each challenge for a tangible incentive. The Quest will take you to places of unparalleled scenery and beauty with views from Achill to Aran and everything in between!

Some challenges will not be advertised so be prepared for a few surprises!
The Quest will finish off with a proper beach ‘dash’ before the finish line at Connemara Caravan Park where you can have a hot shower and a hot meal (or a swim in the sea!).
Team Option for 10km Event
A team option is available for the Connemara ConnQuest 10km event. A team consists of 4 members and will be ranked on their combined team time.
