Saturday 2nd June 2012 //Lettergesh Beach // Renvyle // Co. Galway

 

 We have 3 categories this year:

  • Intro 17 km which costs €50.00
  • Sport 32 km which costs €75.00
  • Expert 60 km which costs €75.00

 

All participants will receive a tech t-shirt, hot meal and refreshments at the end of the race, free entry into the after party in Mullarkeys Bar in Clifden at 9pm on Saturday night.

 

The Sport and Expert categories start on Lettergesh Beach.  The Intro category starts at Kylemore House.  The race finishes in Letterfrack for all categories and there is a shuttle bus back to the start areas to allow you to collect your car (then you can return to Letterfrack for your bike).

Prize Giving

  • The prize giving will be held at 4.00pn in Veldons Pub directly across from the Finish Line. 
  • The prize giving will not be a long affair but it would be great if you would stay around to support those who won.

 

After Party

  • The after party will be in Mullarkeys Bar, Foyles Hotel, Main St, Clifden from 9pm.

Race Start Times

  • Wave 1 – Experts 10.30am (Start is on Lettergesh Beach)
  • Wave 2 – Intro 11.00am (Start is at Assault Course at Kylemore House)
  • Wave 3 – Sports 11.30am (Start is on Lettergesh Beach)
  • Wave 4 – Sports 11.50am (Start is on Lettergesh Beach)
  • The race finishes in the Letterfrack on the green in front of GMIT and there will be a hot bowl of pasta for all participants in The Courtyard Café beside the finish line

 

Race Sign-On

 

Race sign-on will be in the Ellis Hall, GMIT in Letterfrack.  There is lots of parking and the Courtyard Café will be open and serving food, so come early and enjoy the banter.  If you need a snack after the drive west, this is the place.  Race sign-on is open early on Saturday morning to facilitate anyone who wants make this a day trip and save on the accommodation.

 

Race sign-on will be open as follows:

  • Friday from 4.00pm to 10.30pm
  • Saturday from 7.00am to 10.30am

 

 

**NEW** for 2012 we are starting an introducion category for people who are completely new to adventure racing.

 This introduction category will be 17km: 

  • starts with the assault course 1km,
  • cycle to Letterfrack 8km on a flat route,
  • trek / walk the Diamond Summit Trail 8km
  • then finish in Letterfrack with a hot meal.
